Privacy policy
How Proselift collects, uses, and protects your data.

What we collect
- Account details you provide (email, name, password hash, profile preferences such as native language and writing goals).
- Writing you submit for analysis, saved drafts, glossary entries, quiz answers, and coaching history.
- Usage data such as plan tier, quota consumption, billing events, and product interactions needed to run the service.
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and session cookies required for authentication.
How we use your data
- To score drafts, surface mistakes, generate lessons, and show progress over time.
- To send transactional email (verification, password reset, and billing-related notices when applicable).
- To process subscriptions and payments through Razorpay.
- To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and support you when you contact us.
AI processing
- When you use Proselift Cloud AI, your draft text is sent to our configured model provider (for example Google Gemini or OpenAI) solely to produce coaching feedback.
- We do not sell your writing. Do not paste passwords, government IDs, or other highly sensitive content into the editor.
- If you use on-device analysis (Pro plan), draft text stays in your browser unless you choose cloud analysis.
Retention & deletion
- We keep account and writing data while your account is active so coaching can compound over time.
- You may request account deletion by emailing us; we will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where law or payment records require retention.
Sharing
- We share data only with infrastructure and service providers needed to run Proselift (hosting, email, payments, and AI APIs) under appropriate agreements.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the service.
Your rights
- You can update profile details in Settings and export or delete your account by contacting support.
